Design With Nature Day Retreat

Rydal Hall, Ambleside, Cumbria
Limited to 8 places

Step out of the noise.
Return to your senses.
Design a home that feels like you.
In a world shaped by algorithms, constant notifications, and curated feeds, many homes are now designed to be seen rather than felt.
Beautiful on the surface. Disconnected underneath.
Design With Nature is a one-day immersive retreat for those who long to create a home that feels alive, grounding, and deeply personal - not driven by trends or external validation but shaped by lived experience and a genuine connection to the natural world.
Set at Rydal Hall in the Lake District, this retreat invites you to step away from screens and into the steady, soul-soothing rhythms of nature - where clarity returns, creativity softens, and your inner voice can finally be heard.
This retreat is for you if…
-
You crave peace, quiet, and solace in nature
-
You feel overwhelmed by design choices and tired of trends being spoon-fed to you
-
You long for a deeper connection to your home and the things you fill it with
-
You sense that your environment affects your wellbeing and want to design in a way that heals, not harms
-
You want a home that truly reflects you and your family — not a version curated for others
-
You feel disconnected in an increasingly digital world
If reading this brings a soft exhale, your body already knows the answer.
The Experience
Design With Nature gently weaves together two elements:
🌿 A guided nature connection experience
🎨 A biophilic interior design workshop
Your day will unfold slowly and intentionally, allowing your nervous system to settle and your senses to awaken. This is not a rushed schedule or information-heavy workshop. It is spacious, grounded, and deeply human.
You will experience:
-
The quiet surrender that happens when busy minds dissolve and nature’s voice can be heard
-
Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing) — a guided immersion into the wisdom of the forest
-
A sensory opening that allows creativity to emerge without force
-
A sense of being held — by the landscape, the pace, and the shared experience
What You Will Learn
You will be guided to:
-
Unearth your inner creative voice through direct connection with nature
-
Understand the principles of biophilic design and why they matter for health and wellbeing
-
Collect “natural data” - inspiration from your own lived, sensory experience - not from trends or social media
-
To craft a personal design vision rooted in feeling, memory, and connection
-
Examples of how to translate that vision into considered, intentional design choices for your home
You will leave with clarity, confidence, and a grounded framework for creating a home that supports how you truly live.
Why This Retreat Is Different
This retreat is not about creating a home that follows trends, shaped by other people's creative visions. It is about moving away from trend-led spaces designed to be seen rather than felt.
Learn how to design from intuition, sensation, and your lived experience. There is no aesthetic to conform to - only space to slow down, reconnect, and create from a place of personal connection.
